How to Setup Auto Post with RSS

Keeping your social media profiles active with fresh, relevant content does not have to be a manual process. By connecting your favorite blogs and websites to Eclincher through Auto Post RSS, you can automate your content strategy and let Eclincher do the heavy lifting. Once set up, Eclincher monitors your chosen feeds and publishes new content to your social media profiles automatically.

Step 1: Navigate to Auto RSS

In the left-hand sidebar menu, look under the Publish section and click on Auto RSS.

Step 2: Configure Your Feed Details

Once you are in the Connect RSS Feed window, fill in the following information:

  • Feed Type. Select the type of source you are connecting, such as RSS, Atom, WordPress, YouTube, or another supported feed type.
  • Feed URL. Paste the link to the RSS feed or website you want to connect.
  • Search. Click the Search button. Eclincher will validate the link and display a preview of the most recent articles on the right side of the screen so you can confirm it is pulling the right content.
  • Profiles. Use the Profile dropdown to select the social media accounts where you want the content to be published.

Step 3: Customize Your Posting Settings

Before saving, take a moment to adjust how the automation behaves:

  • Check Frequency. Choose how often Eclincher should check the feed for new content, for example every 24 hours.
  • Post Volume. Select how many posts to publish each time new content is found, up to a maximum of 3 posts at a time.
  • Prepend or Append Text (Optional). Add a standard intro or closing line to every post, such as "Check out our latest blog:" or a set of hashtags. This field supports up to 180 characters.
  • Instant Activation. Toggle the switch to turn on auto-posting immediately. When enabled, the most recent article from the feed will be published within 1 to 2 minutes of saving.

Step 4: Save Your Feed

Once you are satisfied with all your settings, click the Save button at the bottom left of the screen to activate your feed.

Step 5: Manage Your Automated Feeds

After saving, you will be taken to the Auto Post with RSS dashboard. From here you can:

  • Pause or Resume. Use the toggle slider to turn the automation on or off at any time without deleting the feed.
  • Monitor Activity. Check the Last Sampled and Last Published timestamps to confirm your feed is running as expected.
  • Edit or Delete. Click the pen icon to update your feed settings, or the trash icon to remove the feed entirely.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Not all RSS feed content is supported by every social media platform. Make sure the content you want to publish meets the specific Media Setting Guidelines for each platform to ensure everything publishes smoothly.

Sharing content from trusted sources is a great way to keep your audience engaged, and Eclincher's RSS and Atom Feeds feature makes it easy to do that on autopilot.
