Boost Your Business Ranking with Local SEO


Have you ever noticed that searching "coffee shop" from your office gives you completely different results than searching from home? That is location-based search at work. Search engines prioritize results that are closest and most relevant to where you are at that moment.


For local businesses, this makes Local SEO one of the most valuable tools available. If your goal is to reach customers in your area before they find a competitor, knowing where you rank and why is where it all starts.

What is Local SEO?


Local SEO allows you to assess and improve your business's ranking in proximity to your target audience. It provides insights into your current local ranking and offers a glimpse into your competitors' rankings as well.


How to Access the Local SEO Feature

  • In your Eclincher dashboard, go to the left-hand panel
  • Click on the Listings & Local SEO tab
  • Select the Local SEO Add-on tab



Note: If this is your first time opening Local SEO, a prompt will appear asking whether you want to connect a Google Business profile already linked to Eclincher or search for a business using Google Search.


Adding Your Businesses and Tracking Competitors


To track your business rankings and even monitor your competitors, you need to add the relevant information:


  • Under the Businesses tab, click the Add Business button in the upper right corner.



For Google Business:

  • Select the desired profile from the dropdown list
  • If your Google Business account is not yet connected to Eclincher, click the Add Profile link to go to Manage Accounts, then click Add Account and select Google Business to log in




For Google Search:

  • Type your business name in the search field
  • Select the correct business from the suggestions that appearIf you haven't added the Google Business account yet to Eclincher, click on the "add profile" hyperlink to go to the "Manage Accounts" page. And then, click the "Add Account" button and select "Google Business" to login on the Google account that has the business profile that you want to add.

  • Click Save to add the business to your Local SEO dashboard


Tip: You can use this same process to add competitor businesses and monitor how they rank alongside you.


Adding Business Searches


To add a grid and perform searches for your business, follow these steps:


  1. Click on a business from the Businesses column to open the grid view
  2. Click the Add Search or New Keyword button next to the selected business

  1. In the Add Search screen under the Setup section, you can enter search terms to compare your businesses. Set the radius or grid to determine the scope of the comparison. And then, click on the Run Search button for the ranking results to appear.

  • Local SEO Ranking Map (middle column) This map shows how your business ranks across the grid you defined. The center point is based on your business address. Click any point on the grid to explore rankings in that specific area.
  • Click Expand on any grid point for improvement suggestions, including the option to save GPS Cfor that location
  • Click Create New Post to get instructions on embedding those GPS coordinates into your image attachments, which can help reinforce your location relevance in search


By clicking Expand button, this will recommend options on how to improve your business ranking such as saving your GPS coordinates and creating a new post from that page.

Select other service areas


  • Keyword Rankings by Area (right column) Once you click a point on the grid, this column lists all the businesses ranking for your keyword in that area, along with their names and addresses. It is a practical way to see exactly who you are competing with at a street level.

Quick FAQs

  • Can I track more than one business? Yes. Add as many businesses as you need, including competitors, and switch between them in the Businesses column.
  • How often do rankings update? Rankings refresh each time you run a new search.
  • Do I need a Google Business profile to use this feature? No. You can also search by business name using the Google Search option.
