Adding Instagram Business Accounts and Troubleshooting Steps



There are a couple of things Instagram needs you to check off before adding Business Accounts:

The Instagram Business account must be connected to a Facebook page that you manage.
Your Facebook user account must be an admin or editor of the connected Facebook page.

If you're experiencing issues adding an Instagram Business account, follow the steps below to resolve the problem.

Step 1: Confirm Facebook Page Admin Access


Log in to the Facebook account that has admin rights for the Facebook page linked to your Instagram Business account.

In a separate tab, log in to your eclincher account.

Click on Manage Accounts, then click Add Account.

A pop-up will appear. Click Instagram to proceed.

Select Instagram

All Instagram Business profiles linked to the Facebook pages you manage will be displayed.

Toggle the switch to On for the accounts you want to add.

Click Save".

Step 2: Troubleshooting


If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, try the following:

If you receive this error message despite being logged in to the correct Facebook account:

Go to the Manage Accounts section.
Click on Renew Token and then Update all Pages.

After renewing tokens, try going back to Steps 5 and 6 to save your Instagram Business account.

Step 3: Check Facebook and Instagram Connection


If the Instagram Business account still doesn't appear:

Ensure the account is properly connected to its Facebook page.

Go to the Facebook Page's Settings > Linked Accounts and click the View button for Instagram.

You'll know the Instagram Business account is properly connected to the Facebook page if you see the message shown above.

If you see a message saying Review Connection, click on it.

Note: Only admins of the business that owns the page can review this connection. If you're not an admin, contact the page owner.

Alternatively, you can check and modify the connection in the Instagram mobile app by navigating to Edit Profile > Public Business Information > Page. Ensure the correct Facebook page is selected.

Once you’ve verified the connection, go back to eclincher, renew token and update all pages data again (refer to Step 2).

Step 4: Recreate Facebook Tokens/Permissions

If the Instagram Business account is still not appearing, it might be due to insufficient permissions. Follow this guide to recreate your Facebook tokens/permissions.
