How to Convert Your Personal Instagram Profile to a Business Profile

Converting your personal Instagram profile to a business account offers great convenience and time-saving benefits. With an Instagram business account, you can directly publish and schedule your posts (limited to single image or single video posts) without the need for push notification reminders to your mobile device. It's essentially the same process as scheduling a post to a Facebook page.

Note: Instagram Creator accounts still require push notification for all types of posts due to Instagram API limitations.

To get started, you'll need to convert your personal Instagram profile to a business/professional account. Facebook has provided simple steps to follow. To begin the conversion process, please click here.

On Instagram, follow these steps to switch your profile to a business account:

Go to your profile and tap the burger icon (☰) in the upper right corner.
Tap on Settings.
Select "Switch to Professional Account."
Choose "Business" as your account type.
Before adding the Instagram Business account to eclincher, please note that it is required to connect it to a Facebook page for which your Facebook account currently has admin or editor rights.
Provide the necessary details, such as your business category and contact information.
Tap Done.



Once you've successfully converted your personal profile to a business account on Instagram, return to the eclincher desktop app. Go to "Add and Manage Accounts" and add the converted account using the "Instagram Professional" icon instead of the "Instagram Profile (User)" icon. Please note that your previous profile will still appear in the list of accounts as (User), and you can either disable or delete it within the eclincher app.
