Adding Instagram Business Accounts and Troubleshooting Steps


Getting your Instagram Business account connected to Eclincher is straightforward, but Instagram does have a couple of requirements that need to be in place first. Taking a moment to confirm these before you start will save you a lot of back and forth.


Before you begin, make sure:

  • Your Instagram Business account is connected to a Facebook Page that you manage
  • Your Facebook user account has admin or editor access to that Facebook Page


If you're experiencing issues adding an Instagram Business account, follow the steps below to resolve the problem.


Step 1: Confirm Facebook Page Admin Access


  1. Step 1: Log in to the Right Facebook Account
  • Open your browser and log in to the Facebook account that has admin rights to the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram Business account
  • In a separate tab, log in to your Eclincher account


  1. Step 2: Open Manage Accounts
  • Click on Manage Accounts in the left-hand navigation bar
  • Click the Add Account button



  1. Step 3: Select Instagram
  • In the pop-up window, click Instagram
  • All Instagram Business profiles connected to the Facebook Pages you manage will appear in the list


  1. Step 4: Select Instagram
  • In the pop-up window, click Instagram
  • All Instagram Business profiles connected to the Facebook Pages you manage will appear in the list
  • Toggle the switch to On for the accounts you want to add.
  • Click Save.


That's it. Your Instagram Business account is now connected to Eclincher.


Troubleshooting: Account Not Showing Up


If your Instagram Business account did not appear or you ran into an error, work through the steps below in order.

"Instagram Business Account Already Exists" error


If you see this error even after logging into the correct Facebook account:

  • Go to Manage Accounts
  • Click the three vertical dots next to your Facebook account
  • Select Renew Token, then Update All Pages
  • Once done, go back and try toggling on your Instagram account and saving again



  1. After renewing tokens, try going back to Steps 5 and 6 to save your Instagram Business account.


Account still not appearing? Check the Facebook and Instagram connection



If the Instagram Business account still doesn't appear:


  1. Ensure the account is properly connected to its Facebook Page.
  • Go to your Facebook Page Settings, find Linked Accounts, and click View next to Instagram

  1. You'll know the Instagram Business account is properly connected to the Facebook Page if you see the message shown above.
  • If you see a Review Connection prompt, click it and follow the steps to confirm the link

Note: Only admins of the business that owns the Facebook Page can complete the review. If you are not an admin, you will need to contact the page owner.


  • Alternatively, you can verify and update the connection directly in the Instagram mobile app by going to Edit Profile > Public Business Information > Page, and confirming the correct Facebook Page is selected

  • Once the connection is confirmed, go back to Eclincher and run Renew Token and Update All Pages again


Still not appearing? Recreate your Facebook tokens


If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the problem may be related to insufficient permissions on your Facebook token. Follow the Recreate Facebook Tokens or Permissions guide to work through this.


Quick FAQs

  • Why does my Instagram Business account need to be linked to a Facebook Page? Instagram Business accounts use Facebook's API for third-party integrations, so the Facebook Page connection is what allows Eclincher to communicate with your Instagram account.
  • I am an admin of the Facebook Page but the account is still not showing. What next? Try the Renew Token and Update All Pages steps first, then check the Facebook and Instagram connection as described above. If the issue persists, contact the Support Team.
  • Can I add a personal Instagram account? No. Eclincher only supports Instagram Business accounts. If your account is still personal, you will need to convert it to a Business account first.
