Introducing Instagram Direct Messages on Eclincher


Managing your Instagram DMs no longer means jumping between apps. Through the Messenger API integration for Instagram, Eclincher users can now read and reply to Instagram Direct Messages right from the platform. It keeps your workflow in one place and makes it much easier to stay on top of audience conversations without missing a beat.


What you can do with Instagram DMs in Eclincher:

  • Reply to direct messages from your followers and audience
  • Respond to Story mentions from other users
  • Reply to responses on your own Instagram Stories


How to Add Instagram DMs to the Eclincher Inbox


  1. Step 1: Enable Message Access in the Instagram App
  • Open your Instagram app and tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top right corner
  • Go to Settings, then select How others can interact with you
  • Tap Messages and Story Replies
  • Select Message Controls
  • Under Connected Tools, toggle on Allow Access to Messages




  1. Step 2: Access Instagram DMs in Eclincher
  • Make sure your Instagram Business profile is already connected to Eclincher
  • Navigate to the Inbox section of your Eclincher dashboard
  • Use the Profile filter to select your Instagram account
  • Apply the Type filter and select Instagram Direct Messages to view your DMs in the Inbox



Types of Instagram Direct Messages Supported


1. Regular Direct Messages
  • Receive and reply to standard DMs sent by users
  • You have up to 7 days to respond to each message



2. Mentions in Instagram Stories
  • Get notified when someone tags you in their Instagram Story
  • Reply to the mention directly from the Eclincher Inbox
  • Responses must be sent within 7 days



3. Replies to Your Instagram Stories
  • See when someone replies to a Story you posted
  • Respond to their reply without leaving Eclincher
  • You have 7 days to reply



Quick FAQs

  • Why am I not seeing DMs in my Eclincher Inbox? Check that the Allow Access to Messages toggle is enabled in your Instagram app settings (Step 1 above), and confirm your Instagram Business account is properly connected to Eclincher.
  • Does this work with personal Instagram accounts? No. Instagram DMs in Eclincher are only available for Instagram Business accounts connected through the Messenger API.
  • What happens if I miss the 7-day reply window? Instagram does not allow replies to messages or Story interactions after 7 days. This is a platform-level restriction that applies regardless of where you are responding from.
  • Can I manage DMs for multiple Instagram accounts? Yes. Use the Profile filter in your Eclincher Inbox to switch between accounts and manage conversations for each one.
