My Post Failed or Didn't Publish on Google Business Profile

If your post didn't go through on your Google Business Profile account or location, don't worry! There are a couple of common reasons this happens, and both are easy to check.

1. Check User Permissions

The person scheduling or publishing posts on Google Business Profile needs to have the correct role assigned. The current available roles are Primary Owner, Owner, and Manager. Users without one of these roles will not be able to publish posts successfully.

Here's how to check user roles in Google Business Profile:

1. Go to business.google.com and sign in with the Google account linked to your profile.
2. Select More Business Profile Settings, then go to People and Access. Google Support
3. You will see a list of all users and their assigned roles.
4. To update a role, select the user, choose the new role, and click Save. Note that only Owners can change access roles for other Owners and Managers.

2. Multiple Locations Limitation

If your Google Business Profile account has 10 or more locations, please be aware that Google's API does not currently support post publishing for accounts at that scale.

This is a limitation on Google's end, not within Eclincher.

Here is Google's official clarification on this:

Q: Who is allowed to post through the API?

A: Any business or brand with fewer than 10 locations (as determined by our internal chain detection) can use the API to post on Google. Brands with 10 or more locations are not eligible for posting at this time.

If your account falls under this category, we recommend reaching out to Google directly for updates on when this limitation may be lifted.
