How to Use Facebook Domain Verification
As of May 8, 2018, Facebook disabled the ability to edit organic or unpublished Page post links unless you verify your domain in Facebook’s Business Manager.
“Domain verification makes sure that only the rightful parties can edit link previews that direct to your content.”
In the past years ,Facebook has set many measures to ensure the integrity of content on Facebook, and domain verification was one of these steps. Domain verification ensures that only verified owners can edit the way their content appears on Facebook. Many publishing apps like e-clincher use link editing to customize and create engaging content for the Facebook community.
In an effort to preserve this essential functionality in a way that protects the integrity of publishers' content, only verified link owners will now have the ability to overwrite link metadata when creating link page posts.

What is Domain Verification?
Domain Verification provides a way for domain owners to claim ownership of their domain in Facebook’s Business Manager. This ownership allows you to control editing privileges of your links and other content, to prevent misuse of your domain and to block the wrong people from manipulating your content.
Who is Domain Verification for?
Domain Verification is the best way to handle ownership if:
• You are using Facebook’s Business Manager to manage your assets
• You can upload HTML files to the web root directory or the ability to edit DNS TXT records
• You can edit Link Page Posts that link to content you own
“Ownership” will determine who has access to link editing. If you are verifying a domain on behalf of a client (e.g. as an agency) you need to make sure that the domain is verified in the domain owner's Business Manager.
Implementation
According to Facebook: to implement domain verification, you need to choose between two different methods:
1) add a DNS TXT entry to your DNS record to confirm that you own the domain, or
2) upload an HTML file provided by Facebook to your web directory and confirm domain ownership in Business Manager.
Add your domain in Business Manager
In Business Manager, click on the Business Settings button in the upper right corner.

In the Business Settings, select the Brand Safety tab, and select Domains from the left side navigation list.

Click on the Add button, and enter your domain in the Add a Domain pop-up dialog.

If you have more than one domain listed, select the domain for which you desire to confirm ownership.
Choose the method you wish to use to verify your domain: DNS Verification or the HTML File Upload. Note: You only need to use one method.
Facebook domain verification in eclincher
Once you have verified your domain in Facebook, you are all set in eclincher.
Every time you choose a Facebook profile that has a verified domain, once you enter that (domain) link in e-clincher’s post editor, an “Edit Verified Domain Preview” button will pop:

Clicking this button, a pop up window will open and you will be able to edit:
The Image that will go out with your link
The preview (text) that will go with the image. Please note, in Facebook, the text is limited and Facebook does not allow to expand this text (although they show),so you want to keep your message concise and still meet your objective.
