Publishing Instagram Stories

Posting Instagram Stories (Videos and Images)

Publishing Instagram Stories is simple with Eclincher! You no longer need your mobile device or push notifications to get your Stories live. You can publish both videos and images directly from your Eclincher dashboard. Here's how to do it.

Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing Instagram Stories

Step 1: Access the Post Editor

Navigate to New Post in Eclincher to open the Post Editor. From the profile dropdown menu, select your Instagram Business or Creator profile where you'd like to publish your Story.

Step 2: Attach Your Media

With your Instagram Business or Creator profile selected, you can attach media in the following ways:

  • Image Libraries & AI Generation – Browse free images from Pixabay, Pexels, and Unsplash; pick from your Media Library; or generate an image using AI (if included in your plan).
  • Clip icon – Upload directly from your device, Media Library, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Cloudinary.
  • Canva – Design or edit images and upload them directly to Eclincher.
  • Adobe Express Video Editor – Create or edit videos and upload them directly to Eclincher.

Step 2: Attach Your Media

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You can attach up to 10 images/videos per post (mixed media is allowed).
  • Your media will automatically be checked to ensure it meets Instagram's requirements. For the full list, refer to our Media Setting Guidelines per Social Platform article.
  • Some story elements, such as links and music stickers, cannot be added through Eclincher due to API limitations. If you need to include these, you can use the Instagram Push Notifications workflow to complete publishing through the Instagram app. See the following guides for more information: Enable Push Notifications for IG and iOS Push Notification (iOS 16.4 and higher

Step 3: Edit Video Options (Optional)

If you uploaded a video, click the Edit Video Options button to update your video settings. Here you can select a thumbnail from your video or upload a custom one. For Instagram Stories, these settings are optional, but depending on your selected social media channels, some fields may be required.

Step 3: Edit Video Options

Step 4: Set the Post Type as Story

Once your media is attached, select the Story option to set your post type accordingly.

Step 4: Post Type > Story

Step 5: Schedule or Publish Your Story

Choose how you'd like to share your Story:

  • Post Now to publish it immediately.
  • Add a Schedule to set a specific date and time for it to go live.

Step 6: Save

When you're ready, click Save to publish or schedule your Story.

Step 5 and 6: Schedule or Publish Now > Save

That's all there is to it. Your Instagram Story is ready to go, published or scheduled right from Eclincher.
